Courmayeur. Courmayeur (Altitude 1224m) is located in the Aosta Valley in Italy and sits at the foot of Mont Blanc (Altitude 4,810m) on its South side. This beautiful Italian village has the “Skyway” cable car linking Courmayeur to Chamonix on the French side of Mont Blanc transporting you to the dizzy heights of 3,466m at the Punta Helbonner station and offers some spectacular views of Mont Blanc, Monte Rosas, the Matterhorn, Grand Combin and Gran Paradiso.

The cobbled street village has a range of hotels, restaurants, shops, boutiques, cafes and bars available to sample the fine Italian hospitality.

Winter

Skiing is available on the 100km of slopes with the highest lift up to 2,755m. There is a good selection of intermediate skiing available and also off-piste, ski touring and heli-skiing for the more advanced abilities.

Other winter sports available within the area are snow shoeing and cross country skiing. 

Summer

In the summer months the village is visited by many hikers on the tour of Mont Blanc hiking route, mountain bikers, road cyclists, golfers. There are many other activities available such as horse riding, paragliding, rafting and canoeing.

Access

Travelling to Courmayeur from the French side is via the Mont Blanc tunnel and the nearest airport is Geneva airport in Switzerland (120km distance) which takes between 1hr 30mins and 2 hrs depending on traffic in the tunnel.
