Tignes is part of the Espace Killy ski area (connected to Val d'Isere) with access to 300km of varied slopes. Tignes comprises of Val Claret, Tignes le Lac, Le Lavachet, Tignes Les Boisses and Tignes-les-Brévières.

Altitudes range from 2,100 m down to 1,550m but access is also available to the Grande Motte glacier at 3,653m which offers spectacular views on a clear day.
